Hyundai and ARK introduce Legato Concept for SEMA
Mon, 07 Oct 2013
Hyundai is adding the Legato Concept to its SEMA stand in Las Vegas. The sleek, silver coupe is based on the Genesis and will debut Nov. 5.
Legato means “tied together,” says Hyundai, and this coupe integrates “exotic design, tuned performance and luxury ambiance.” ARK provided the body kit, which includes front and rear bumpers, side skirts, decklid and wide-body pieces.
Under the hood, the Legato Concept uses Hyundai's 3.8-liter V6, but stroked to 4.0 liters to make 400 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque. For the record, the base V6 coupe makes 348 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
To make that extra power, ARK uses a Brian Crower Stroker kit with JE pistons, a BC 4340 crankshaft and connecting rods, and ARK oil cooler. An ARK intake helps the concept breathe while a lightweight pulley kit reduces power loss. An ARK dual-mass flywheel and carbon clutch kit send power to the rear wheels.
An ARK DT-P coilover suspension connects to lightweight Rays Engineering G25 wheels, Nitto tires and ARK carbon brake pads.
Inside, the Legato gets custom Takata Drift Pro LE seats, a sports steering wheel, digital gauge cluster and Rockford premium sound.
We'll get a better looks at the Legato Concept, as well as the Bisimoto Genesis coupe and the EGR Yellowcake when we hit the streets of Las Vegas next month.
