Hyundai i40 Estate debuts in production-ready guise at Geneva

The Hyundai i40 has been cropping up all over the world in the last year as a very credible contender in the D-Segment. And now – better late than never – Europe gets its own Hyundai i40.

The i40 on show at Geneva this week is the one designed for Europe at Hyundai’s European Design Studios in Germany. Its looks, its suspension and its engines are tuned to Euro needs, so there’s more emphasis on handling than floating and on diesels rather than petrols.

Which makes the Hyundai i40 Estate – for that’s the first iteration of the i40 we get in Europe – a very interesting prospect. We expect the i40 to undercut any serious opposition from VW, Ford and Vauxhall whilst offering build quality their equal and specifications higher.

The i40 Estate goes on sale in the Summer across the UK and Europe, at prices we don’t yet know.
