Hyundai i40 Tourer (i40 Estate) Price and Models
Wed, 01 Jun 2011Hyundai i40 Tourer - starts at £18,395
Yes, it’s the long-awaited prices for the Hyundai 140 Estate – or the trendy ‘Hyundai i40 Tourer‘ which Hyundai prefers – which is to be the first i40 to hit UK showrooms, ahead of the i40 saloon which we won’t see until early next year.
Not surprisingly, Hyundai has undercut both Ford’s Mondeo and Vauxhall’s Insignia with its entry-level i40 Tourer 1.6 GDi Blue Drive which comes in £500 less than the Ford and £1k less than the Vauxhall and offers the lowest BIK in its class. That’ll help.
The i40 Tourer comes with a choice of three trim levels – Active, Style and Premium – and a choice of two petrol lumps – the 1.6 litre in the entry-level i40 and a 2.0 litre which you can only have in the top-end Premium trim – and a 1.7 litre diesel that comes with either 111bhp (which should get from 0-60mph in about 3 weeks) and a more drivable 134bhp version.
Standard kit is on the decent side with even the entry-level i40 Tourer getting 16″ alloys, electric windows, Bluetooth and electronic parking brake with hill hold.
Trim level of choice is probably the i40 Style where, for less than £2k more, you get decent extra goodies like touchscreen SatNav with rear view camera, parking sensors, Cruise and Climate.
Go daft – or if someone else is paying – and the top end i40 Premium adds in leather, panoramic sunroof, and keyless entry.
Should do well with both private and company buyers.
