Hyundai introduces Bisimoto Genesis coupe for SEMA

Hyundai began its SEMA push on Monday with a 1,000-hp Genesis coupe from Bisimoto Engineering. We're not sure how the company managed to squeeze that many ponies out of the Genesis' 3.8-liter V6. We're guessing alchemy has something to do with it.

Bisimoto also created the car's electric blue paint, Denmatic did the design graphics, the hood is from ARK and the decklid is made from carbon-fiber. A Burns stainless-steel exhaust sits out back.

Under the hood, Bisimoto added internal components, including steel connecting rods, an intake gasket, injectors and upgraded camshafts. To make the added power, twin Bisimoto/Turbonetics turbochargers were installed with Godzilla blow-off valves and dual wastegates.

Additionally, Bisimoto installed Arias forged pistons, Golden Eagle sleeves, a Supertech valvetrain, a Magnafuel fuel pump, an ARP head, smart ignition coils and a handful of other upgrades.

The Bisimoto coupe is held to the track with a Progress coilover suspension, Drive Shaft Shop 5.9 axles and driveshaft, 20-inch wheels and Toyo R888 tires.

Last year Hyundai brought seven concepts to the show, including the Cosworth Racing Series Concept, a Bisimoto Elantra and the HATCI Velocity, which was based on the Veloster.

The SEMA show is one of the world's premier automotive specialty trade shows -- think wings, wheels and literally everything in between. The show begins on Nov. 5 in Las Vegas at the Convention Center. We'll have boots on the ground, but until then check out our coverage of last year's show here.
