Infiniti JX (7-seat crossover) tease continues
Sun, 17 Jul 2011Infiniti JX Concept Tease 2
We hold our hands up. We’re starting to find the whole idea of teasing a new car launch with a series of images which somehow piece together a jigsaw of identity in your mind a little passé. Hence this is our first trip in to the Infiniti JX.
Still, we’re here to report what’s going on on in the world of cars and, although we can perhaps ignore a tease until it gets more interetsing, we can’t ignore it altogether.
Infiniti launched the idea of the JX – a luxury, mid-sized 7-seat crossover – back in April. They did it with a an image of an Infiniti JX with a motion blur filter running horizontally (photo in the gallery below) which showed a familiar SUV/Crossover shape, and not a lot else.
Infiniti said at the time that they planned to show the JX in concept form at Pebble Beach in August and in production form at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November. The man from Infiniti said of the JX:
“There aren’t a lot of choices for luxury families today. The all-new Infiniti JX is the 7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now.”
Which sets the bar quite high, but then he was talking to a North American audience who probably get Infiniti a lot better than we do.
Since this picture and detail we’ve had one further image – a photo-realistic one of the front three quarters close up – ten days ago, and now we get another image, this time of a tail light.
Infiniti are promising us that they will relveal an image a week from now until the JX gets revealed at Pebble on 18th August. If it gets interesting we’ll do a story, if not we’ll just add the image to the gallery below so you can build a mental image of the new Infiniti JX Crossover.
In case it matters to you.
