Infiniti and Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel collaborate for Frankfurt

Getting extra press is just one of the benefits of having defending Formula One World Champion driver Sebastian Vettel as a company ambassador. The other is the chance to sell cars with Vettel's name attached.
Infiniti has been a partner with Vettel since it signed on as a sponsor of the Red Bull Racing team at the start of this year's F1 season. Now, the two are rumored to be collaborating on special edition of the Infiniti FX50 for the Frankfurt motor show.
In a video shot during the Geneva motor show last March and quietly touted by Infiniti, Vettel talks with Nissan design chief Shiro Nakamura about steering wheels, carbon fiber, matte finishes and how Vettel drives his white FX50.
The phrase “working together” is used more than once.
Nakamura says Vettel is a good designer and knows what the customer wants. Vettel was given his choice of Infiniti road cars to drive when the partnership began, and he chose the 390-hp FX50 in Moonlight White.
All we know is, if the next FX50 has a rectangle-shaped, carbon-fiber steering wheel with 20 buttons on it, that's a good thing. For now, check out the video and come back to autoweek.com during the Frankfurt show for more details.
