JE Designs turns up the power in Touareg hybrid

JE Designs unveiled its freshly tuned 440-hp Volkswagen Touareg hybrid on Friday.

The German tuning company boosted the Touareg’s output from 380 hp to 440 hp by optimizing the management of the 3.0-liter engine. The hybrid’s electric motor remains untouched.

The performance gains have also increased the torque from 428 lb-ft to 465 lb-ft. As a result the Touareg Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds, more than half a second faster than a factory Touareg.

The JE Design’s Touareg includes a wide-body kit, dual exhaust and 22-inch aluminum wheels. The entire JE Design package costs $29,907.
