Jaguar F-Type Configurator LIVE
Fri, 28 Sep 2012The online configurator for the new Jaguar F-Type is now live. Our Jaguar F-Type V8 S ended up costing £91,440.
The F-Type configurator is a decent effort with just about everything speccable – and viewable as you spec it up – from colours and wheels to active exhaust and flat bottomed steering wheel.
What is interesting - although we admit the car we specced up was the F-Type V8 S which come with a decent spec in the cost – is that the entry-level F-Type with the 340PS V6 Supercharged engine doesn’t even get leather seats as standard – they’re an extra £3k for the Performance seats with Premium Leather facings and contrast stitching.
There’s a plethora of ‘Packs’ on offer for the F-Type too, with exterior stuff like the Black Pack (£995), Design Pack (£1500) and Parking Pack (£500) and interior stuff like the Seat Memory Pack (£1550), Extended Leather Pack (£880) and Interior Black Pack (£950).
The prices aren’t bargain basement, but they’re no more than they’d cost from any other premium maker. We didn’t go daft with ‘our’ F-Type V8 S and yet it still came to £91,440, and an entry level F-Type with the Premium Leather Interior, 20″ Blade Alloys, Meridiam Sound System and Active Sports exhausts and nothing else extra – despite temptation – came in at £68,275.
The Jaguar F-Type looks to be a great car, but its prices are distinctly ‘Premium’. Still, ‘Premium’ prices haven’t done sales of the Range Rover Evoque any harm.
