Jaguar F-Type Coupe Configurator now LIVE. ‘Our’ F-Type Coupe R cost over £100k

It does look like the Jaguar F-Type Coupe – revealed last week at the Los Angeles Auto Show – is all the car we hoped it would be, and more so with the arrival of the 542bhp F-Type R Coupe. With deliveries expected to start in spring 2014, you may have to wait a while to get in to Jaguar’s most appealing car since the E-Type launched 50 years ago, but you can scratch that itch a bit by building your own F-Type Coupe on Jaguar’s new F-Type Coupe Configurator.

As you’d expect, the list price of the new F-Type – £51,235 for the F-Type, £60,235 for the F-Type S and £85,000 for the F-Type R – is just the starting point, with the options list easily pushing up the price unless you’re very restrained.

We managed to spec up a nice F-Type R and it came to just over £100k, but for that you would be getting an F-Type R with most of the most appealing extras and toys, and although £100k may seem a  lot for an F-Type, compare it to the less able – and slower – Aston Martin Vantage V8 (or even the V12) and the F-Type looks a veritable bargain.

A great way to waste time.
