José Mourinho gets the first Jaguar F-Type Coupe

You would be forgiven for thinking the Jaguar F-Type Coupe is already roaming the roads in the hands of customers, such has been its profile in recent months, but you’d be wrong. However, Jaguar has now started serial production of the F-Type Coupe and the first man in line for a nice, shiny F-Type Coupe is José Mourinho, as we reported a couple of months ago.

The ‘Special One’ was presented with his new car – in Stratus Grey with 20-inch Gyrodyne Black and Diamond Turned Wheels, Red Brake Calipers, Panoramic Glass Roof and Meridian Sound – by two of the F-Type manufacturing team from Castle Bromwich - Gary Johnson and Steven Gaut – at an event in London.

José Mourinho said:

I am very proud to now own the new F-TYPE R Coupé. It was an honour to receive this spectacular sports car from the gentlemen responsible for building it and I would like to thank the Jaguar team at Castle Bromwich for producing such a wonderful car.

The start 0f series production of the F-Type Coupe also sees the launch of specialist Jaguar R Performance Centres around the UK to take care of Jaguar’s most sporting models.

The new centres (listed below) will offer test drives on routes designed by professional drivers to give the R models a proper workout, and there’ll be iPads loaded with Apps that give  technical information, performance data and interactive media for all R models.

Ken Forbes, Jaguar’s Marketing Director, said:

As well as offering outstanding support to buyers and owners, later this year we’ll be introducing a selection of circuit-based driving activities for Jaguar ‘R’ product customers, meaning they will be able to explore the limits of their car and driving skills in a safe and exhilarating environment.

So it’s all go on the ‘R’ front for Jaguar, with the next model likely to be the F-Type Roadster R.
