Jaguar F-Type V8 R planned by Arden
Sat, 12 Jan 2013German tuners Arden are planning to deliver a Jaguar F-Type V8 R ahead of Jaguar with the promise of a 550bhp version on offer.
The new Jaguar F-Type isn’t going to start arriving in the hands of customers for a few months yet, but that small detail isn’t going to stop the world’s car customisers planning a tweak or three to Jaguar’s new sports car.
Arden – German tuners of British cars – has revealed plans to make the new F-Type V8 S in to something akin to what we expect Jaguar’s own top-end F-Type V8 R to deliver when it arrives – around 550bhp.
Turning up the wick in the supercharged V8 that lurks under the bonnet of the F-Type V8 S is something most remappers can do for you for around £500, but Arden are planning a little – all though not a lot – more than that.
Apart from the power hike – which should give the F-Type sub-4 second 0-62mph performance – Arden have added a set of new wheels to the F-Type and bolted a leaping cat on the bonnet. Why?
Frankly, the regular wheel options for the F-Type look a chunk better than the wheels Arden has bolted on (well, Photoshopped on) and the leaping cat has no place on the nose of the F-Type.
Arden are planning to uprate the brakes on the F-Type to better cope with the extra power and we’re sure they plan to do a bit more than just tweak the 5.0 litre V8′s brain to yield the extra 50 or so bhp.
But if you really want that extra power ahead of Jaguar’s own F-Type V8 R, you’d be much better grabbing a nicely specced V8 S and having it remapped.
And it’d be a chunk cheaper too.
