Jaguar F-Type: FAST (video)
Tue, 14 Aug 2012With the Jaguar F-Type close to launch at the Paris Motor Show, Jaguar has released a new video extolling its performance potential.
Although we’ve been looking at the Jaguar F-Type Roadster (albeit with a black and white camouflage paint job) since April, it doesn’t officially arrive until Paris next month.
But Jaguar has learnt that the Interwebs like a constant drip of new information on hotly anticipated cars, so they’ve dropped a new video for the F-Type focussing on its performance. Which is, after all, its raison d’etre.
Jaguar say that for a sports car to deliver it must get the fundamentals right. It needs a stiff and responsive body structure with optimal weight distribution and a high power to weight and power to torque ratio.
The F-Type is quicker, more responsive and agile than any other Jaguar; more driver-focussed. It’s brakes work better too, thanks to managed air flow through and under the car for better brake cooling.
And the immediacy of its response is linear, thanks to an all supercharged lineup of engines, which comprise two versions of the new V6 (340PS and 380PS) and the V8 Supercharged (we don’t yet know how powerful that is going to be in the F-Type).
More tantalising morsels on a car which will, whether Jaguar like it or not, define them for the next generation.
