Jaguar Heritage Racing heading for Goodwood Revival (+video)
Wed, 12 Sep 2012Jaguar are taking their Heritage Racing cars to the Goodwood Revival this weekend, ending a successful first season of historic racing.
This coming weekend sees the Goodwood Revival taking Sussex back in time, and Jaguar are taking their race-ready versions of the C-Type and D-Type from their Jaguar Heritage Racing team to add some sparkle to Goodwood and round off a successful first year of historic racing.
Jaguar has already had plenty of success in their first year with the Heritage Racing outfit, with wins at the 2012 at Monaco Historique, Le Mans Classic and the Nürburgring AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix.
Jaguar’s entries in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy and Sussex Trophy at Goodwood for the C-Type and D-Type respectively will be complimented by a Jaguar MK 7 running in the St Mary’s Trophy and driven by JD Classic’s owner Derek Hood. It’s JD Classics that are Jaguar’s partner in their Heritage Racing programme (and a must go to if you’re in to classic Jags – especially if you live in Essex).
Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s Global Brand boss, said:
Goodwood Revival is unique and a world class event for collectors, drivers and enthusiasts of classic cars and heritage motor sport.
It showcases some of the finest and most successful race cars ever built and I am proud that we are able to bring the rich heritage of Jaguar to life; both on track and as part of our bespoke displays.
It is an excellent opportunity to celebrate Jaguar’s history, and a showcase for our enduring and distinctive brand values of seductive design, innovative technology and sporting performance.
If you can get to the Goodwood Revival this weekend, you’ll have a ball. But if you can’t, or the tickets are a bit too much in straightened times, then get to Silverstone instead for the Ferrari Race Days – that’ll only cost you £15.
