Jaguar XK and XKR special editions on sale
Thu, 16 Feb 2012
Jaguar has introduced special-edition models of the XK and the XKR, but they're not coming to North America.
We're not sure why--sales of the XK and the XKR have been strong in the United States the past few months.
Jaguar says the special-edition models feature enhanced interiors more than anything else. The new interiors use scraffito grain leather on the seats, instrument panel, door and rear-quarter trim. That's available with two new veneer finishes--shadow walnut and dark figured aluminum--and a Poltrona Frau leather headliner.
Elsewhere in the interior, the 16-way adjustable performance seats are heated, as is the steering wheel. Two color schemes are offered: navy with a jet-black headliner or truffle with a canvas-colored headliner. Unique sill plates and stainless-steel pedals are also included.
The convertible top can be ordered in blue, black, brown or gray, while exterior paint choices include the special-edition celestial black, crystal blue, lunar gray, polaris white, rhodium silver and ultimate black.
Engine choices are the same as on the standard editions. The XK gets a 379-hp, 5.0-liter V8 while the XKR gets a supercharged version of the same engine, rated at 503 hp.
The Dynamic Pack, which was previously offered only on the XKR, will now be available for the XK. The Dynamic Pack raises the top speed to 174 mph and includes a new rear diffuser, a 10-millimeter lower ride height, revised adaptive dynamics, spring and damper rates, and a new front knuckle that Jaguar says optimizes the steering.
The special editions are on sale now--in England.
