Jaguar XKR (2010 / 2011) Ultimate Special Edition – the Video
Wed, 17 Feb 2010The 2010 Jaguar XKR - with all the options - the Video
Earlier today we reported on the (very) minor changes to the Jaguar XK range as a whole for 2010/2011 and also on the very appetising changes Jaguar has introduced for the XKR for the new model year.
The changes include the addition of a couple of option packs which make the Jaguar XKR a more hardcore car than it has been to date. These changes have probably come about after Jaguar played with the XKR to produce a Lime Green hot version for last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the option of graphics on the side certainly owe their existence to the Goodwood Special.
The Speed Pack on the 2010/2011 XKR takes off the limiter, allowing the XKR to power on to 174mph instead of being electronically limited to 155mph. You also get a set of cosmetic changes and a tweak to the steering to keep it positive at high speeds.
The Black Pack makes the XKR look much more aggressive with lots of black, big alloys and the option of the graphics on the side. But it’s all very well telling you what Jaguar have done to the XKR – and even giving you photos to look at – but nothing shows you better how different the new XKR with all the toys thrown at it is than a video.
So we thought you might like a look at a video Jaguar have just sent us of a fully kitted-out XKR. In the UK and Europe you’ll have to specify the Speed Back, the Black Pack and the graphics to end up with an XKR like this, but in the US it’s being marketed as a complete Jaguar XKR Special Edition.
Looks good. Still not sure about the graphics, but they look a lot better on the white XKR than they did on the Lime Green one at Goodwood.
