Jaguar at Goodwood – the roundup w/video
Tue, 07 Jul 2009The Bonneville Jaguar XFR was piloted up Goodwood's Hillclimb by Wing Commander Andy Green
There were two main highlights for Jaguar lovers at Goodwood – the first showing of the Goodwood Special XKR and the chance to see the Jaguar XFR that broke the Jaguar speed record at Bonneville last year (Jaguar XFR Bonneville Video).
The Goodwood Special XKR is a one-off, Lime Green creation by Jaguar designed to show the harder side of the Jaguar XKR. It features 21″ wheels, the Lime Green paint job, bold graphics and tweaks to the XKR’s 5.0 litre V8 to give an extra 20 horses and a boost to the torque. The result was a much harder-edged XKR that was driven – with some relish – by Jaguar’s Chief Engineer Mike Cross up the Goodwood Hillclimb.

A treat for Jaguar fans was in store with Wing Commander Andy Green – World Land Speed Record Holder – piloting the Bonneville XFR up the Hillclimb. But, if the amateur footage we have at the bottom is anything to go by, Andy is happier in a straight line than up the twisty Goodwwod Hillclimb! Still, it was good to see the fastest XFR in action.
With a successful Goodwood out of the way Jaguar can now concentrate on the new XJ launch. And so can we. But once that’s out of the way we can start asking Jaguar when we’re going to see the Jaguar XF Coupe, the Jaguar XF Estate, the Jaguar XE…
Look out, Nick!
