Jaguar breaks down XF, XK and XJ for 2014
Tue, 12 Nov 2013
Jaguar broke down its lineup for 2014 on Tuesday. There aren't too many changes for the new model year, but there are a few. The XF gets a new package that includes blind spot monitor, adaptive front lights, and intelligent high beams. The Black Pack can be ordered on all trims.
The XKR now comes standard with the Aero Pack. The new Performance Pack includes diamond-pattern stitching on the performance-style seats, active exhaust, a suede steering wheel and red brake calipers. Finally, the XJ's new flagship model, the XJR, comes standard with a 550-hp V8, while the 3.0-liter supercharged motor replaces the naturally aspirated V8.
The Jaguar XF starts at $47,870 with a 2.0-liter turbocharged motor. All-wheel drive models start at $53,895 while the top-of-the-line model comes in at $99,895.
The base XF continues with a peppy 240-hp 2.0-liter turbo, the next step up is a 340-hp supercharged V6 followed by the 470-hp XF Supercharged. The XFR makes 510 hp and the flame-throwing XFR-S makes 550 hp. An eight-speed transmission directs power to where it needs to go.
Other new features for 2014 include a number of chassis upgrades on the XFR-S. The Premium Package is revised to include voice control and keyless entry; the Interior Sport Pack is available on all models and the supercharged V6s and V8s can be filled with E85. The XFR-S is premium gas only.

Moving from four doors to two, the least expensive Jaguar XK costs $79,895 including destination for the Touring Coupe trim. The top model, the XKR-S GT Coupe, comes in at $174,895. We're not sure if this is the biggest price discrepancy from top to bottom trim in the car industry, but we'll bet it's close.
Engine choices are no surprise here. Your options continue to be 5.0-liter V8 tuned to 385 hp, a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 tuned to 510 hp, or a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 tuned to 550 hp. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power rearward, and gears are changeable via paddle shifters. Only 25 examples of the most powerful XKR-S GT will be available in the U.S.
The flagship XJ starts at $75,095, including destination. That gets buyers a 3.0-liter supercharged V6. All-wheel drive models cost about $3,500 more; stepping up to the V8 will set buyers back $91,495. With all the bells and whistles, the long-wheelbase XJR will cost $119,895.
Engine choices for the XJ are a 340-hp V6, a 470-hp supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and the monster 550-hp V8, which can get its nearly 4,200-pound frame to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds. Like the XF, E85 ethanol can be used in the V6 and lower-powered V8.
The XJ gets new interior trim for 2014, an enhanced massage function and new optional rear-seat entertainment setup with 10.2-inch screens. Also new is the option of controlling all four seats from the touchscreen, functional business trays and a new sound system.
