Jaguar says it will close its Heritage Museum in Browns Lane in the United Kingdom in September. The company is looking for a new home to display the collection.
“Heritage is extremely important to us,” said Faye Goldstraw, senior press officer for Jaguar U.K. “We don't want people to think we are closing the doors and just walking away from this.”
Goldstraw explained that because of the sale of the Browns Lane site in 2007, the center's closure was inevitable.
The collection numbers about 150 vehicles that are a mix of static and traveling pieces. There are 30 vehicles on display at the museum. Jaguar is looking for options to have them displayed throughout the town of Coventry until a new home can be found.
One possibility is the Coventry Transport Museum, which holds one of the largest collections of road transport in the world. Museum representatives could not be reached for comment.
