James Bond's 1964 Aston Martin featured at London auction

Two 1964 Aston Martin DB5s were featured in the James Bond Goldfinger and Thunderball movies. One survives, and it's up for grabs at the RM Auctions Automobiles of London sale on Oct. 27.
This is no simple movie prop. Known by its original U.K. registration number, FMP 7B, the car comes complete with several modifications, including a bulletproof shield, an oil-slick sprayer and a smoke screen. That means the winding bidder can truly feel like 007, or perhaps stand in as Bond girl.
This is the first time that the car will be available to the general public. Jerry Lee, a Philadelphia radio broadcaster, originally purchased the FMP 7B directly from the Aston Martin Lagonda factory in 1969. He paid $12,000. The car is expected to sell for more than $5 million.
There was one other similar car featured in the films, but that Aston was stolen in 1997 and is believed to have been destroyed.
The proceeds will benefit the Jerry Lee Foundation, which focuses on solving social problems linked to poverty, with an emphasis on crime prevention.
