Jay Leno drives the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder

There's one thing all the vehicles Jay Leno gets to drive seem to have in common, and it isn't even four wheels: They're all cool enough to make us extremely jealous.
The 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is no different. We're especially glad Leno decided to feature this new supercar (hypercar? gigacar?) on the latest episode of "Leno's Garage," because we wanted to see what the comedian and hardcore gearhead though of its much-touted hybrid tech. This is the guy that owns a hot rod built around a tank engine, after all.
To explain the workings of this complex hybrid supercar, Leno turns to Daniel Eastman -- racer, Porsche development driver and "918 Client Relationship Manager," whatever that is. We get a rundown on the car's mechanical systems before Leno and Eastman hop in the car and hit the road.
Since Leno didn't spend a lot of time messing around with the electric-drive mode, there's plenty of decent audio highlighting the car's throaty engine note. Suffice to say it doesn't sound like a Prius. No wonder Leno looks so happy after a spin in the car; we wouldn't be surprised if he added one to his fleet. It would look right at home tucked in next to his Carrera GT.
