Jeep Wrangler and Chevrolet Cruze are checked for engine fires
Mon, 02 Apr 2012
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking into complaints that some Jeep Wrangler vehicles and Chevrolet Cruze sedans are prone to engine fires.
The investigation is taking a look at the 2010 Jeep Wrangler and the 2011 Chevy Cruze. NHTSA says it has eight complaints about engine fires in the Wrangler and two complaints about the Cruze.
In many of the complaints, drivers said the fires began while the engine was running.
Spokesmen for Chrysler and General Motors said the automakers were cooperating with the investigations.
