KTM X-Bow – the heavyweight dealer arrives
Thu, 11 Jun 2009Dick Lovett has been appointed as a dealer for the KTM X-Bow
And the profile of the X-Bow keeps growing with the effusive comments from those who’ve driven it and the decent marketing the car is enjoying through sensible stuff like the KTM X-Bow Drive Orange days at Brands Hatch and Silverstone.
But that 1,000 car a year production may have to be revised again after it has been announced that Dick Lovett – a high-end supercar dealer – has just been appointed KTM X-Bow dealer for South Wales and South West England.
We who read (and write) about cars every day tend to assume that anyone looking for a supercar or high-end sports car is completely au fait with what the market has to offer. But actually, nothing could be further from the truth. Often high end cars are bought simply because the buyer believes they make a statement or he/she just wants the biggest bang their Buck can buy.
But now, when they toddle along to a Dick Lovett showroom to look at a Ferrari or a Maserati or a Porsche (for Dick Lovett holds franchises for all those marques), they will find that they can buy a KTM X-Bow for a third of the price of a new Ferrari F430. Not only that, but the X-Bow would probably run rings round the F430 on the road.
I’m not suggesting for a minute that the X-Bow and the F430 are comparable in many ways, but in terms of performance per Pound Sterling spent, the X-Bow wins hands down.
Be interesting to see how many X-Bows Dick Lovett shifts.
