Kia CUB revealed: Seoul Motor Show 2013
Thu, 28 Mar 2013The Kia CUB Concept has been revealed at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show as a four door coupe powered by Kia’s 1.6 litre Turbo.
Still, the CUB is a concept so a little bending of reality is the norm, and the CUB seems a perfectly sensible concept for Kia to be delivering, tapping as it does in to car buyers’ penchant for funky urban crossovers. Although we’re not entirely sure there’s a country mile in intent between the CUB and the Kia Provo we saw at Geneva.
The CUB concept gets four doors, with suicide doors at the back, a coupe roofline, LED lights and big alloys. All typical concept stuff.
Inside there are four individual black leather chairs with contrast yellow accents with touch controls, a minimalist look and a steering wheel that can monitor the driver’s biorhythms. More concept stuff.

But under the bonnet isn’t concept stuff, so no airy-fairy flights of hybrid fancy but Kia’s 1.6 litre turbo petrol straight out of the Cee’d GT with 201bhp.
Which adds credibility to any possible production plans for the CUB (minus the concept fripperies), although Kia say they have no plans to put the CUB in to production.
