Kia K9 video promo and interior photos ahead of launch

The new Kia Flagship K9 is close to launch in South Korea as Kia reveals interior photos, engine details and promo videos.
The Kia K9 is the new Kia Flagship that looks more like a BMW 7 Series than a BMW 7 Series. And it’s looking like the K9 could start to move buyers’ opinions in the luxury market firmly in Kia’s direction.
The K9 is not a car we’ll probably get in the UK (but if we do we assume Kia will get David Tennant to promote it (just like Virgin) even though we doubt Kia will be daft enough to use the K9 moniker outside Korea) but it will be launching in South Korea this summer and in the US a little later.
Ahead of that Kia has now released photos of the interior of the K9 and a couple of promo videos; and even if the K9 is a bit ‘big luxury car’ generic and copies the style of a German luxury car maker, it’s an entirely convincing offering. And going that route didn’t do Lexus any harm.
The K9 will be a bit of a technical tour de force for Kia with toys like colour heads up display, adaptive LED headlights that look to have a mind of their own and a whopping great 2.3″ infotainment screen.
Power will come from a choice of 3.3 litre V6 Petrol with 296bhp and a 3.8 litre V6 with 329bhp, either of which should offer decent performance if not exactly AMG challenging speed.
Still, at prices likely to be a chunk lower than anything comparable and Teutonic (or Nipponese), the Kia K9 could be another successful direction for the South Koreans.
