Kia Urban Compact SUV Concept heading for Geneva Motor Show
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Kia is teasing what looks to be an Urban compact SUV come crossover ahead of a reveal at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The market for funky, rufty-tufty urban crossovers started with the ugly bug (but appealing) Nissan Juke and continues apace with car makers rushing to fill a desire by car buyers for something butch and small to blat round urban landscapers.
Now it looks like Kia re planning to get in on the act with a new urban runaround of their own, with the reveal of a handful of tease photos of a new concept they will be revealing at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March.
Kia hasn’t given their concept a name yet, although they have done a bit more than just tease with a set of photos that seem to make it clear that this is a Kia rival to the Nissan Juke.
With a statement nose, very sculptured lines, big butch rear wheel arches and huge alloys, the Kia Concept undoubtedly offers a Korean take on the Juke.
All Kia has to say about their new urban concept at this point is:
Kia is set to deliver a provocative and racy new urban concept car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
With the company’s signature tiger-nose morphing into a mischievous, yet friendly, grille and headlight arrangement, coupled with strong styling lines that exude speed and energy from every angle, Kia’s newest concept vehicle is guaranteed to attract attention.
No doubt we’ll get more before Geneva, but if this is a Juke rival it’s a very sensible route for Kia to go.
