Kia announces upcoming concept
Fri, 25 Jan 2013Kia will unveil an, as yet, unnamed concept car at the Geneva motor show this March.
The concept, which the carmaker calls ‘provocative and racy', features a new take on Kia's signature tiger nose aesthetic that integrates the headlamps into the grille design in a narrow, full-width strip. The lamps themselves seem to be contructed of a pixelted, mesh-like light source. These sit above two large air intakes set into the exaggerated lower mask, which features a towing eye, suggesting a racing theme for the hatchback.
The pronounced wheelarches feel reminiscent of the Nissan Juke while a large rocker detail with a narrow chrome strip feels similar to the Renault Clio's from these images. A thin chrome strip runs the A-pillar before running along the top of the roofline.
At the rear the lamps jut out horizontally beyond the otherwise smooth design. These rear lamps are also again into the tiger-nose design.
We're told that we will learn more about the concept on the 5 March (including its name) ahead of its Swiss debut.
