What’s the star of this year’s Geneva Motor Show? Ferrari FF? Pagani Huayra? LP700-4? Or something a bit more prosaic?

It’s a question we’ve bandied around at Cars UK Towers in the last couple of days, and there’s no clear consensus. But one car that keeps cropping up – in the office and from readers – is the Koenigsegg Agera R. And with good reason.

If you want a hypercar that looks like a hypercar you can’t go far wrong with the Agera R. Tick box one. If you want a hypercar that is as fast as any other Hypercar, Agera R’s your car. Tick box two.

And actually, you can carry on ticking a lot of very interesting boxes as you go along. Price – barking, but no more so than any other hypercar. Build quality – it may be bolted together in a Swedish shed, but you’d never know. Rarity – there are probably fewer Agera’s than anything else you might consider.

And when all’s said and done, the Agera R boasts 1115bhp from its 5.0 litre V8 when it runs on biofuel and weighs half a ton less than a Veyron. Which probably gives you one of the best power to weight ratios you can buy.
