In a wide ranging interview – in which Bloomberg compare Christian to a benevolent Bond villain – Christian reveals that plans for the One: 1 have moved on in the last year, and what he has in store is impressive indeed.

The Koenigsegg One:1 will come with 1,400 horses – more than we imagined – and it will indeed boast one hp for every one kilogram. But that weight is a weight including all fluids and even the driver.

The performance the One:1 is expected to deliver should see it capable of 280mph – if Christian can find anywhere to test it (we doubt VW will play ball with Ehra-Lessien) – and be the fastest car in the world from 0200kph, 0-300kph and 0-400kph.

In fact, Christian reckons the One:1 will be able to get from 0-400kph in an unbelievable 20 seconds – twice as quickly as the Bugatti Veyron.

The original plan was to build just five One:1 cars, but it looks like that has turned ion to six – and all are pre-sold.

Christian expects to have a prototype of the One:1 ready by the end of 2013.
