Cars UK exclusively revealed the first details of the Koenigsegg One:1 back in November 2012, and now it’s heading for its public reveal at the Geneva Motor Show next week. So extreme is the One:1 that Christian von Koenigsegg has dubbed it ‘The world’s first MegaCar’, and looking at the specification he may have a point (it has 1 Megawatt of power).
The Koenigsegg One: 1 produces a massive 1340 hp and over 1000lb/ft of torque an weighs 1340kg – the world’s first 1:1 power to curb weight ratio supercar – enough to deliver 2G cornering capability together with 610KG of downforce at 160mph thanks to active under and over body aerodynamics.
The One:1 also has active ride height for the chassis with variable stiffness shocks, fully active aero with two flaps under the front splitter and a hydraulically actuated top mounted dual plane rear wing.
The One:1 is clever and connected too with 3G and GPS used for the predictive active chassis and Aero Track Mode and 3G telemetry and performance info – and software upgrades – accessible through an iPhone App.
Carbon fibre abounds in the One:1 for extra weight saving with a 20 per cent saving in weight on the body and chassis thanks to high modulus fibres, carbon memory foam racing seats, Titanium exhausts and a new 3D printed variable turbo housing.
It all adds up to a spectacular car that promise a top speed (if you could ever find anywhere to run it) of 280 mph and a 0-250mph time of around 20 seconds.
The Koenigsegg One:1 will debut at Geneva next week, but of you want one you’re out of luck – they’ve all been pre-sold.
