Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 goes apocalyptic in new video
Tue, 26 Apr 2011
If you're a fan of AutoWeek's Best in Show-winning Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4--and if you're here, we know you are--check out the brand-new video below. It shows the Aventador outracing the apocalypse in a stylized clip complete with gaping sinkholes opening up, rock spires shooting through the ground and an ominous fog rolling in to swallow up the raging bull. All of which, of course, fail to silence the red Lambo.
The Aventador, which we first saw at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March, benefits from a 690-hp V12 engine with a Haldex four-wheel-drive system and an automated-manual transmission. The other numbers--a top speed of 217 mph and a 0-to-60 mph time of less than 2.9 seconds--are as impressive as you would expect.
Lamborghini said it has received more than a year's worth of orders for the Aventador, which stickers for $379,700, including the gas-guzzler tax, in the United States. The car arrives in the second half of this year.
The company's new configuration site is also live at www.aventador.com. It allows you to choose colors, get a selection of views inside and out, and to check all the other relevant specs of the new supercar.
