Lamborghini Aventador Roadster: Easy remove roof (video)
Tue, 13 Nov 2012We have video of the new Lamborghini Aventador Roadster at a private reveal in Miami showing that the roof really is easy to remove.
It’s a great-looking car – even if it’s more Targa than Roadster – and comes with the same 6.5 litre V12 and 0-62mph of just 3.0 seconds as the coupe. More importantly, especially if you get caught in a shower, the Aventador Roadster actually has a roof that can be removed and re-fitted in quick sticks.
The Murcielago Roadster had a folding origami umbrella that leaked, wafted and couldn’t be fitted unless you kept your foot off the loud pedal.
By contrast, the Aventador Roadster gets a pair of rigid carbon fibre panels for its roof that can be clipped in to place – after liberating then from their stowage space in the front luggage compartment – in quick sticks, as the video below shows.
Just for comparison, we’ve also posted the video of Richard Hammond’s road test of the Murcielago Roadster with its group effort to get the roof in place (that starts at 4:25 after the BBC has paid its bills with an advert).
The Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will arrive in the UK in the summer of 2013 at around £300k.
