Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante leaks
Wed, 17 Nov 2010The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4-Spyder Performante at LA
Lamborghini has commited to bringing a new model to every motor show. Sadly, that means a new model in whatever minor variation on a theme Sant’Agata can muster rather than an all new model. Still, a real new model every motor show would be pushing it even for Audi, and a new variant each motor show is still impressive from a company with just one current model – the Gallardo.
So we’re being treated to the soft-top version of the LP570-4 Superleggera – the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. In fact we’re supposed to be treated to it tomorrow, but thanks to a Teamspeed member jumping the gun (or making it up – you never know) we’re being treated to a couple of photos and some early detail.
The Spyder Performante gets a new nose, covered underbody, some butch sills and a new diffuser at the back, together with 19″ lightweight alloys. In total – thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre on the soft-top cover, rear spoiler, transmission tunnel, seat shells and anywhere else possible – the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante comes in at 143lbs less than a regular-fat Gallardo Spyder.
The weight drop isn’t enormous, but the performance figures improve to 3.9 seconds 0-62mph and a top speed of 201mph whilst the CO2 emissions are reduced – but by how much Lamborghini has declined to say.
An impressive car, no doubt. We have no clue yet on price or numbers, but Lamborghini has still managed to fill a page or ten of A4 with Italian-English prose, so take a look at the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante press release for all the verbosity you can handle.
And if by some chance this leak is a wild goose chase, we’ll be back with the real deal as soon as we have it.
