Lamborghini SUV: The Lamborghini MLC revealed in New York

Lamborghini’s SUV – which we expect to be the Lamborghini MLC – has been revealed to a select audience at the New York Motor Show.

The Lamborghini SUV  is already confirmed for a reveal at the Beijing Motor Show later this month. But that hasn’t stopped Lamborghini from revealing their SUV at the New York Auto Show, albeit to just a handful of select guests.

The SUV reveal was a no cameras event, but that hasn’t stopped one Lamborghini dealer - Ed Bolian of Motorcars of Georgia – taking to his website to excitedly talk about what he saw. But it seems Lamborghini didn’t like Ed’s review of what their new SUV is all about (we’ve been on the end of Lamborghini’s demanding phone calls (here and here) but, unlike Ed, we have don’t have to worry about Lamborghini) so Ed’s piece has been taken down. But we grabbed a copy before it was.

Ed says that the Lamborghini SUV is very similar to the leaked photo we ran a while back (a cleaned-up version is at the top) and is Q7 in size, X6 in profile and Cayenne in stance. The wheels are very different – and 24″ with carbon spokes – and the line running through the doors is more pronounced.

Power will likely come from the Gallardo’s V10 with something between 550-600bhp and Ed seems to think a loaded MLC will cost the best part of $200k. He says Lamborghini are not committed to producing the MLC, but if they do (and they will) it will arrive in 2-3 years based on the same platform as the next Q7 and Bentley SUV.

It wouldn’t be fair to republish Ed’s piece after he’s obviously had grief from Lamborghini, but maybe just his summary?

Which all looks rather promising. And we can judge for ourselves when the Lamborghini SUV hits the floor at the Beijing Motor Show later this month.
