Lamborghini Urus - now it's official

The Lamborghini Urus – Lambo’s new SUV – has been officially revealed at the Beijing Motor Show.

On Friday we brought you all there is to know on the Lamborghini Urus – Lamborghini’s first SUV in a generation – with lots of detail and a gallery of photos.

Now, Lamborghini has had the official reveal so we’re able to bring you all the detail they’ve delivered and all the photos they’ve released. Trouble is, there’s nothing you don’t already know.

The Lamborghini dealer who told us what he knew when he went to a private reveal of the Urus said it had the stance of the Cayenne and the profile of the X6. He’s not far out, with the Urus as aggressively appealing as the Cayenne and with a coupe roofline – almost an Estoque on stilts.

It will sit on the same platform as the Cayenne and Bentley SUV but will be lower than even the Cayenne, at just 65.4 inches, and sits on comically large 24″ rims. Inside there’s plenty of Aventador DNA with an enormous transmission tunnel and lots of carbon fibre.

Lamborghini aren’t letting on what’s under the bonnet, but it’s almost certain it will be a variation of the V8 in the new Bentley GT – which will also find its way in to Bentley’s SUV – and deliver in the region of 600bhp.

Lamborghini are calling the Urus a concept, but it’s all but certain it will arrive in 2015 – around the same time as the Bentley SUV.
