The Land Rover Discovery was launched 25 years ago as a ‘Lifestyle’ Land Rover product complete with funky interior from Jasper Conran. And now, with the Discovery 4 nearing the end of its life, Land Rover is commemorating that anniversary with a special edition model – the Land Rover Discovery XXV Special Edition.
The Discovery XXV is based on Land Rover’s top spec Disco – the HSE Luxury – and comes in a choice of four colours - Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and Indus Silver – with Narvik Black for the grill surround and door mirrors and Dark Atlas on the grill and vents.
The XXV also gets silver roof rails, body-coloured handles and a stainless steel tread plate for the tailgate as well as a new set of 20″ alloys and the required ‘XXV’ badging.
Inside the XXV adds to the already comprehensive spec of the HSE Luxury with lashings of Windsor leather in ebony, cirrus or dual-tone ebony/cirrus with twist pile mats, leather steering wheel and embossed ‘XXV’ features so you don’t forget what you’re in.
Phil Popham, Jaguar Land Rover Marketing Director, said:
Since its inception the Land Rover Discovery has been pivotal to the success of the brand and has now become an iconic design in its own right. Discovery has led the way in terms of innovation, featuring technologies such as Terrain Response, which made off-roading much more accessible. The Discovery XXV Special Edition is the ultimate in sophisticated versatility and a fitting tribute to the legendary status of this iconic Land Rover.
Land Rover hasn’t revealed a price for the Discovery XXV, but expect it to be the wrong side of £60k.
