Lexus LF-CC promises an appealing Lexus IS: Paris 2012
Mon, 01 Oct 2012Lexus has given their LF-CC Concept a public airing at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, a preview of the 2013 Lexus IS.
The new Lexus GS has proved that Lexus can build a car with a green halo and offer it with styling that isn’t from the beige school of car design. And now the 2013 Lexus IS looks to be heading the same route.
The Lexus LF-CC Concept, revealed ahead of Paris but showing in the flesh for the first time, is a taste of the new IS – expected to arrive in production guise at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show – and looks as good as the concept for the latest GS – the Lexus LF-Gh – did when it arrived in 2011.
Much of what was on offer in the LF-Gh concept went on to appear in the 2012 GS – albeit that you needed to opt for the high-end sporty models to get the statement grill – and the LF-CC promises the same for the new IS.
With its feature grill, LED lights and slim, sharp tail lights, the LF-CC looks very impressive and distinctly upmarket. The concept comes as a three door coupe, although the 2013 IS will arrive first as a saloon with the coupe arriving later in 2013.
Power for the LF-CC Concept – and on offer in the new IS – is a 2.5 litre petrol hybrid, although we hope Lexus has the sense to offer a diesel version and keep faith with the V8 powered IS F when the LF-CC turns in to the 2013 IS.
