Lexus LF-Gh concept
Tue, 12 Apr 2011The 2011 New York International Auto Show will see the launch of the all-new Lexus LF-Gh concept. Designed from a 'clean sheet of paper', the conceptual luxury grand tourer aims to redefine the paradigm.
The concept is said to preview the design language of future Lexus models, in particular the 'spindle-shaped' grille and accompanying LED lighting. The LF-Gh is also said to have 'brought about a refinement and evolution of Lexus's L-Finess design philosophy.' What this translates to is an LFA-inspired sedan that boasts clinically sharp surfacing and a grille dominated DRG; all finished off with the typical Lexus levels of fit and finish.
The stance of the car insinuates a sporting pretence, as does the aerodynamically driven design of the car, whilst the 20-inch wheels and deep bumpers only add to this implication of speed. However, juxtaposing this image of speed and brutish power is the Lexus Hybrid Drive powertrain that powers the vehicle.
The soft transition between lower bumper detail and exhaust is said to be symbolic of the suggestion that the flow of exhaust gases will be substantially reduced over current Lexus models.
