Lexus LF-Lc Concept leaks ahead of Detroit reveal

The Lexus LF-Lc Concept has leaked out ahead of the Detroit Auto Show thanks to a Road & Track Magazine cover.
Lexus has been busy teasing us with pictures of a new concept they’re taking to the Detroit Auto Show for the last week or so. But now we know what it is – the Lexus LF-Lc concept – thanks to Road & Track in the US inadvertently posting it on their YouTube account.
The video containing the magazine cover with the new Lexus coupe on the front has now been taken down, but not before Autoblog grabbed some screen shots. What we see in the image above looks like it could be a new GS Coupe, with some heavy influences from the LFA.
Just last month we had Ben Mitchell, Lexus Corporate Planning Manager in the States, hinting that a GS Coupe could be in the mix for Lexus, and this swoopy, two door coupe with a nose very like the concept version of the new GS looks to be exactly that. But then again…
Logic says that the ‘Lc’ bit of the new concept tells us this is actually a coupe version of the LS. But the LS is now quite ancient, so the idea of a coupe based on the LS seems odd. Perhaps Lexus has taken a leaf out of Mercedes book of coupe marketing and given this Lf-Lc the underpinnings of the new GS, but slapped an ‘L’ on to justify a bigger price tag?
All will be revealed as Lexus head to Detroit. If not before.
