Lexus LS
Wed, 01 Aug 2012Lexus has revealed its new LS model range, consisting of the LS 460, LS 600h and, for the first time ever, an F Sport version of its flagship model.
The new LS is the latest development of Lexus' model range, seeing more than 3,000 changes made to the current LS, responding to customer feedback throughout its development.
The inverted trapezoidal upper grille and slanted lower grille - first seen on the GS sedan - are integrated into one element. New features include black grille surroundings, larger cooling openings, round fog lamps and a chrome plated bar running along the bottom of the rear bumper. Extensive aerodynamic work, inlcuding stabilizing fins give the LS a coefficient drag of just 0.26 Cd.
Inside, the dashboard is divided into two areas: an upper Display Zone with a large LCD multi-display screen and a lower Operation Zone that allows access to system controls. The instrument cluster consists of large high-visibility Optitron dials, a smaller multi-information screen and an aluminum analog clock.
The interior is available in five color schemes: Ivory, Light Gray, Black, Black and Saddle Tan, and a newly available Topaz Brown. Optional wood includes Walnut, Shimamoku Espresso, and Matte Brown Bird's Eye Maple, with the LS 600h L also offering an eco-friendly Bamboo wood trim.
