Lexus NX Compact SUV / Crossover teased ahead of Beijing debut

There were at least a couple of outings for the Lexus LF-NX Concept last year – the Lexus take on a more compact SUV come Crossover to sit below the Lexus RX – which made it all but certain a production version wouldn’t be far behind. And it’s not. Lexus has revealed a single photo (above) this morning to announce that a production version of the LF-NX – the Lexus NX – is heading for a debut at this month’s Beijing Motor Show.
From what we can see, it looks as we expected; a toned-down version of the LF-NX with sensible lights and mirrors and fewer jarring angles. In fact, it looks just like the photo of the Lexus NX that appeared to make an accidental appearance at an Automotive Outlook conference in January.
Under the skin, the NX runs on a platform borrowed from the Toyota RAV4 and will come with a couple of powertrain options – the obligatory Lexus NX 300h with a hybrid powertrain but also an NX 200t with a four-cylinder petrol turbo – as well as the option of FWD or 4WD
With a debut at the Beijing Motor Show this month, we’d expect the Lexus NX to hit UK showrooms by early 2015.
