Lexus RC F Sport completes coupe lineup
Fri, 28 Feb 2014
An F Sport trim joins the Lexus RC 350 and the RC F to complete the brand's coupe trifecta for the 2015 model year. All three models are set to launch this fall in the U.S.
The Lexus RC F sport is slated to make its debut at the Geneva motor show beginning next week. The RC is built on the GS sedan platform with an overall shorter wheelbase than Lexus' IS sedan.
So what will the third addition to the Lexus RC lineup give us? The list of the F Sport upgrades includes adaptive-variable suspension in addition to Lexus' available dynamic-handling system, which Lexus says will provide drivers with a more rewarding and engaging driving experience.
The adaptive-variable suspension automatically and independently adjusts the performance of the damping at all four wheels. Lexus claims this technology allows the dynamic-rear steering and variable-gear ratio front steering to work together seamlessly.
The F Sport rocks Lexus' signature spindle grille in addition to 19-inch F Sport mesh-alloy wheels, coated in dark metallic paint. The interior design takes cues from its RC siblings, incorporating a perforated-leather steering wheel and shift knob; it also sports Lexus' Rioja red interior seats.
Power comes from the V6 engine under the hood, making 306 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque.
Stay tuned for more on the Lexus RC F Sport and all the reveals from the Geneva motor show when our live coverage begins next week.
