Lexus RX 450h Advance added to RX range

Lexus has added a new version of the hybrid RX 450h to their range of offerings in the UK – the Lexus RX 450h Advance – but they’re not exactly pushing the boat out to promote it. The details we got from Lexus tell us that the Advance is based on the RX Luxury, but with the addition of extra kit and just one photo (above).
Those extras amount to a new front bumper that’s half regular R and half RX F-Sport for a slightly more butch look, LED headlights and Lexus’s I-AFS auto-adaptive system that makes the lights move according to steering input.
There’s also some new 7-spoke alloys and a choice of either panoramic or electric sunroof and a choice of six colours - Velvet Black, Arctic Pearl, Mercury Grey, Satin Silver, Celestial Black and Burgundy Red – with a choice of ivory, light grey, black and saddle tan interior with dark gloss inlays.
What’s a bit odd is that the RX Advance comes at the same price – £48,495 – as the RX Luxury it’s based on. Does that make the Advance a Limited Edition to get a few more sales, a replacement for the Luxury grade – or something else?
Still, if you’re in the market for an RX the new Advance appears to offer more for the money.
