Lotus announces Evora Sports Racer

When one hears the phrase “Lotus sports racer,” the classic Eleven comes to mind, especially in either raw aluminum or British racing green. Others might recall George Follmer's Lotus-Porsche, a Fuhrmann-powered beastlet of a 23 that won the US Road Racing Championship in 1965.

This is not that. This is a loaded four-place car. It is, however, called the “Sports Racer.” It's an available trim package for either the naturally aspirated Evora or the supercharged Evora S, offering a selection of zazzy colors -- Aspen white, Carbon grey, Nightfall blue and Ardent red -- along with gloss black accents. The standard 2+2 seats get either red or black covering with contrasting piping, while the console, dash and doors are wrapped in gray fauxcantara with red stitching.

The Sports Racer package also includes Lotus' optional Sports Pack option group, featuring sharper throttle response and a higher rev limit, as well as the Tech Pack, offering a USB port, Bluetooth, a DVD player, tire-pressure monitoring and parking sensors.
