Lotus appoints Mansory as official car customiser

Lotus has teamed up with car customiser Mansory to create custom versions of its Exige, Elise and Evora.
Car makers in the upper echelons have customers who want to make their car more individual than a regular options list can manage. So they either have their own in-house bespoke service – like Ferrari’s Tailor Made – or they appoint an official customiser.
Lotus has decided to go the route of appointing Mansory as ‘Official Car Customise’ for Lotus products, which is something we predicted a year ago when we thought the Mansory take on the the Evora was actually an Evora facelift.
Lotus say that Mansory will contribute bodywork, trim and special finishes for the whole Lotus range (which we assume will also include the new Esprit if/when that arrives) and will allow Lotus buyers to make their Lotus as individual (or awful) as their tastes and bank accounts permit.
Lotus’s Wolf Zimmerman said:
Mansory are leaders in their field, and having worked closely with them on the Evora GTE and the special editions we’ve unveiled recently, we now wish to take the partnership to an official level. Together, I am confident we will continue to produce outstanding sports cars, with the bespoke qualities that many of our discerning customers look for.
Whether the Mansory touch on the Lotus range will produce really appealing stuff like the Aston Martin DB9 Mansory Cyrus or abominations like the Mansory Rolls Royce Ghost, only time will tell.
