The MINI Paceman debuts in Detroit
The fact that MINI has put together yet another concept – the MINI Pacemen – comes as no surprise (especially as MINI sent us details of the MINI Paceman last month). In fact, the launch of the MINI Countryman last year arguably gives MINI the ability to double their range over time by making more versions of the supersized MINI to add to the seemingly endless versions of the original BMW MINI which litter the roads.
And that’s exactly what the MINI Paceman is – a concept based on the MINI Countryman. It’s a two-door MINI Countryman Coupe. In concept form it features running gear courtesy of JCW, so it’s a hot Paceman. But production versions of the Paceman will doubtless offer everything available – and yet to come – across the MINI engine range.
MINI sources tell us that the MINI Paceman is going to go in to production as the eighth production variation on the MINI. But when? We’re scheduled to get the MINI Coupe this year and the MINI Roadster in 2012 (or is it the other way round?). So we’re guessing that means we won’t get the MINI Paceman until late 2012 or in to 2013.
