A new Mazda 5? Looks a bit like the old 5 to me…
Very true, but then the 5 has never looked bad. It’s always been one of Mazda’s best, if underrated cars, and the facelift aims to gently polish it in every area.
The 5 now features electric sliding rear doors - as an option - that open and close in under five seconds, and can be operated from the key fob.
Mazda claims more luxury, more comfort and more convenience, plus better economy and emissions. There are lots of minor tweaks to the bumpers and lights, too.
A six-speed manual is now standard on the 2.0-litre, and there’s now the option of a five-speed manual.
Inside, the 5 keeps its seven-seat arrangement, and now gets DVD-based sat-nav. The revised Mazda 5 will reach UK showrooms in January 2008.
