Mercedes-Benz A-Class concept
Wed, 13 Apr 2011The A-Class concept from Mercedes-Benz is set to make its debut at both the Shanghai and New York auto shows later this month.
A distinctively aggressive development over the outgoing model, the A-Class concept is said to draw on the 'defined edges and free interplay of surfaces' first demonstrated with the F800 Style. The taught muscularity of other Mercedes models is also translated onto the show car.
The interior of the concept also draws from the bionic and cellular inspirations of the exterior. Taking influence from an aircraft wing, the IP is constructed from a translucent fabric and bathed in red LED lighting.
In addition to this newfound athleticism, the car is also said to boast an excess of technological advances and additions to add to Mercedes' claim that the car 'might have come from another planet.'
The aggressive interior and minimalist interior give the A-Class concept a more sporting pretence than the current 'A' range.
