Mercedes-Benz Gullwing, Fiat Zagato and Porsche Carrera for sale at Amelia Island Auction
Wed, 21 Dec 2011
Gooding & Co. has released some details of its third-annual Amelia Island Auction. It will take place on the Amelia Island Plantation in Florida on Friday, March 9, 2012.
This year's event will bring a wide variety of collector cars to the block. A 1953 Fiat 8V Zagato is expected to bring between $750,000 and $900,000, and a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing should bring about the same. A 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS could sell for as much as $350,000, while a 1947 Ford Sportsman could go for $275,000.
Company president and founder David Gooding expects this event to be as exciting as ever.
“We've shared a few thrilling auction moments with our guests in Amelia Island the past two years with the record-breaking sales and bidding rallies over the 1931 Voisin Mylord Demi-Berline, as well as postwar Ferrari 212 and Lamborghini Miura P400 SV Prototype. With this year's early consignments in mind, I expect another exciting Amelia Island Auction ahead.”
Individual tickets are $30, and a $75 catalog includes two passes. The deluxe Gooding & Co. weekend package offers a hotel room at the resort with an ocean view and a gourmet wine and cheese basket, for $349 per night.
Bidder registration forms and additional information can be found at www.goodingco.com or by calling (310) 899-1960.
