Mercedes C Class Executive SE launched
Sat, 31 Oct 2009The Mercedes C Class Executive SE - available in the UK from November
Having already played this card with the E Class – the E-Class Executive SE – Mercedes has decided to treat buyers to a limited edition model of the C Class and has announced that the Mercedes C Class Executive SE will be available in the UK from November, powered by the manual C180 KOMPRESSOR BlueEFFICIENCY engine and available as a saloon or estate.
As with all limited editions there’s nothing to get too excited about unless you were already up for the extras the limited edition is throwing in to the pot. In the case of the Executive SE these include COMAND, the grill off the Sport model, 16” ‘Pristix’ alloys and a bit of extra chrome on the boot lid and exhaust.
To be fair, the Executive SE is quite a nice spec, and the COMAND is a full-fat version, offering hard disk drive navigation, 6 GB music register and a PCMCIA slot and Linguatronic. Mercedes has also upgraded the steering wheel to a multi-function job to control all the new functions.
The C 180 KOMPRESSOR BlueEFFICIENCY setup offers a reasonably frugal basis for the Executive SE, with 44.8 mpg and 154g/km. Not earth-shattering, but a cheap enough way to enjoy the three pointed star. And with a price of £23,190 for the saloon and £24,390 for the estate, the Executive SE is coming in at only £574 more than the C Class SE. Mercedes says the extras would cost you £2,200 if you bolted them on to the SE model.
So, as we said, if the extras rock your boat the C Class Executive SE is worth a shout.
