Mercedes CLA45 AMG first photo

The first photo of the baby swoopy-coupe Mercedes CLA45 AMG has been revealed ahead of a New York Auto Show debut in a PS4 Driveclub release.

The car that Mercedes hope will give it the edge over BMW and Mercedes in the hot baby premium market – the A45 AMG – has already been revealed, and it looks very promising.

But although we’ve got the A45 AMG and all its specs already, we’re yet to see a photo of its swoopy-coupe sibling – the Mercedes CL45 AMG – even though the new CLA range has been revealed. But now we have.

True, the picture of the Mercedes CLA45 AMG (above) may be a digitally rendered one as the photo comes courtesy of a Playstation 4 reveal of Driveclub, it still shows us that the CLA45 will get a similar makeover to the A45, with big alloys, AMG go-faster bits and an altogether more aggressive stance.

Under the bonnet of the very good-looking CLA45 will be the same 2.0 litre turbo 4-pot as the A45 MG, good for an impressive 355bhp and able to scoot the CLA 45 AMG to 62mph in just 4.6 seconds (well, that’s what the A45 manages – and the CLA45 might just shade that with its slippy shape).

Now Mercedes has decided the CLA45 AMG can make an appearance ahead of its debut at April’s New York Auto Show, there’s a better than fighting chance the CLA45 will be revealed sooner rather than later.
